Meet David: A Powerful Advcate

David, Champlain Voices Advocate

David

David is a highly respected advocate for disability rights, active in Green Mountain Self-Advocates (GMSA) and its CCS-hosted chapter, Champlain Voices. In June 2024, David served as part of a Vermont delegation invited to the White House as part of the 25th Anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Olmstead decision.

“I think it’s so important to celebrate this event because we need to keep the movement going,” he said at the time.

“For people with disabilities, I feel there’s always a block to get somewhere. It showed by what these two women achieved; they kept fighting. I think when you believe in something and want to make it possible for that dream to come true you fight the fight and make that dream happen. And that’s what they did.”

David continues to be a sought-after resource in this fight. He was invited back to the White House and has been connecting with a wide network of fellow advocates around the country.
